Wall paintings and wallpaper

We don’t know how long the farmers of Hälsingland have been decorating their houses with wall hangings, but the tradition has old roots.

In our part of the world, there are fragments of hangings preserved from the Iron Age – for example, the fabric tapestries from Överhogdal, which have been carbon-14 dated to 800–1100 CE.
